An obvious choice always being Cable Beach House, with one of the best views in town, that alone makes dining there worth it. But location isn’t everything! Chinatown traders dominating the breakfast game include Dragonfly Café and The Green Mango – you might not get the ocean views from these guys, but you will certainly enjoy a lovely meal. A newly opened, Haven coffee shop also has an interesting yet delicious menu. Another to mention is Zookeepers, located in Cable Beach – these guys never disappoint and might have some of the best sweet treats in Broome! When you’re choosing your brekky location, keep in mind all these places have vastly different menu items, all very unique. So, go online and check out their menus before deciding, because otherwise, there is not much setting these locations apart.
Lunch & casual Dinner options:
Being a small country town, you’ve always got your classic pub meals to fall back on. In Broome, our pub meals are at Divers Tavern or The Roey. Beyond the old faithfuls, stepping up a class, we’ve got our beloved Matso’s brewery – offering a range of beautiful meals, along with their famous ginger beer. The newly built Spinifex brewery has bought brought in some healthy competition for lunch/dinner providers. A family friendly, large outdoor dining area makes the perfect sundowner spot, not to mention the food is pretty great! But an all-time favourite for true locals, is the Roebuck Plains Roadhouse. The largest feed for the most decent price you’ll find in town – and goodness it’s tasty! Do yourself a favour and head out there, it’s well worth the drive.
Finer Dining:
For those nights you’re feeling a little fancy, and don’t mind forking out a little extra, you won’t find much better than Cichetti. Located inside Cable Beach Club Resort & Spa, this restaurants provides the best service in town, along with amazing food that you won’t forget any time soon. Another good one, also inside the resort is Ikigai, featuring Japanese cuisine to die for. Make sure to check these two are open to the public before heading there, as sometimes they reserve them only to guests. For a more relaxed, yet still elegant feel, head to Mr Saigon. They serve up delicious Vietnamese cuisine at a very reasonable price. For that incredible view, followed by a candlelit dinner, be sure to book into Johnny Sausage. You won’t find anywhere else like it, the service is great, and the authenticity of their Italian theme is unmatched. Bali Hai is another high class option, providing amazing dishes consistently.
Takeaway options:
A lovely way to experience a variety of different local options, head down to the Markets on a weekend morning. You will find a range of food trucks serving up delicious takeaway options. Markets also occur during the Dry season, at Town Beach on Thursday nights – check out the visitor centres website for dates. If you’re into Italian food, you will be more than happy to visit the Foodlab for freshly made pizza and pasta. These guys are masters in the kitchen, and you can take it home to enjoy in your own living room.. win! For us, there is no going past DMK Culinary Kitchen. These people have the friendliest vibe and the yummiest food. Indonesian cuisine served with a smile – what more could you want!
